Inaikkural. The word inai holds more than one meaning. A companion walks beside you. A pair holds together and stays two. A link joins two things and leaves each one whole. Inaikkural is all of these. It stands beside the Thirukkural, takes its form, and turns that form toward the life of our own time.
இணைக்குறள். 'இணை' என்ற சொல் ஒன்றுக்கு மேற்பட்ட பொருள்களைத் தாங்கி நிற்கிறது. உடன் நடப்பதும் இணை. எதிரே நின்று ஈடுகொடுப்பதும் இணை. இரண்டையும் பிணைத்து, ஒவ்வொன்றும் தனித்து நிற்க இடமளிப்பதும் இணை. திருக்குறளுக்கு இந்நூல் அப்படி ஓர் இணை. தொன்னூலின் அருகில் நிற்கிறது. அதன் வடிவத்தைக் காக்கிறது. பார்வையை மட்டும் இன்றைய வாழ்வின் பக்கம் திருப்புகிறது.
